The Twins come in the Cell losers of their last 6. They have struggled about as much as the Sox, switching closers losing a second baseman and Joe Mauer. This should have been a battle of the class of the Central, instead it’s a battle for last place, as both teams look up at the Indians.
Game 1
The first of 2 games will see Francisco Liriano vs. Edwin Jackson. Liriano has struggled this year with a 1-4 record and a 9.13 ERA. The Southpaw has been very mediocre against the Sox in his career going 3-3 with a 5.51 ERA over 50.2 innings pitched. Edwin Jackson has been up and down this year his record stands at 2-3 with a high ERA of 5.86. Against the Twins Jackson has lloked bad going 1-3 with a 7.76 ERA.
Game 2
John Danks has had a good start to the year but his record shows the opposite, 0-4. Opposing Danks is Nick Blackburn. Blackburn hasn’t looked good thus far in 2011 going 1-4 with a 5.14 ERA. Against the Sox in his career Blackburn is 6-5 with a decent 3.95, but leave it to the Sox to make a Mediocre pitcher look like Cy Young.
