Wisconsin is going to be very good this year according to the Big Ten media.
The Badgers were voted as the best team in the preseason and also feature two members on the preseason All-Big Ten team. A year after reaching the Final Four and losing only one starter, this isn’t much of a surprise. Frank Kaminsky was voted as the preseason Big Ten Player of the Year after coming on strong late last season. Teammate Sam Dekker joins Kaminsky on the All-Big Ten Team.
Michigan State and Ohio State round out the top three in the Big Ten Preseason Rankings. The Spartans are a bit surprising considering they lost three starters, but don’t ever doubt Tom Izzo. Just don’t.
The rest of the Preseason All-Big Ten Team isn’t much of a surprise. Caris LeVert has Player of the Year potential now that he’s the main man at Michigan while Yogi Ferrell may be the only competent player on Indiana this year. Terran Petteway is a dynamic scorer and hey, Nebraska deserves some praise after reaching the NCAA Tournament last season. Branden Dawson of Michigan State was probably the biggest snub, but there’s not much to complain about here. The Big Ten is going to be great this year.
