On a cold December day in Chicago in 1965, Gale Sayers tied a NFL rookie record for scoring six touchdowns in a game against the San Francisco 49ers. Today we celebrate the 50th anniversary of that day.

Sayers record day was remarkable as he was clearly the best player on the field that day and just a rookie at the time as well. While Sayers career ended early due to knee injuries, he’s still considered one of the best players in franchise history.
