Game 5 of the NLDS between the Chicago Cubs and Washington Nationals has seen a lot of excitement early on.
Chicago jumped out to a 1-0 lead after Jon Jay scored on an RBI groundout by Anthony Rizzo in the first inning. But Washington answered right back in the second scoring 4 runs.
Daniel Murphy got the inning started with a big home run off of Kyle Hendricks and then for the second-straight day Michael A. Taylor hit a big home run to extend the lead. This time, Taylor hit a three-run shot.
Chicago fought back cutting the lead to 4-3 before Nationals ace Max Scherzer came into the game. After Scherzer made quick work of Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo, the Cubs got hits from Willson Contreras and Ben Zobrist to set the stage for Addison Russell.
Russell then came up clutch with a 2-run double.
