It’s been a weird Sunday Night Baseball game at Wrigley Field between the Chicago Cubs and San Francisco Giants.
After the Giants got three in the first inning on two walks and two infield hits, the Cubs were able to rally and tie the game with a three spot of their own in the bottom half of the inning. Both teams have squandered bases-loaded, no out chances and both teams are into their bullpens already.
But even with all of that, the Cubs have somehow managed to find a way to grab a lead and they did it off a former first round pick of their own.
Javier Baez delivered in the clutch with a go-ahead three-run homer off of former Cubs first-round pick Pierce Johnson. Watch as Baez hits an opposite field shot to give the Cubs a 6-3 lead:

That was home run No. 13 for Baez and RBI’s 39, 40 and 41. The Cubs are trying to win this three-game series against the Giants after taking Friday’s opener and losing on Saturday.
They head to Pittsburgh for a series with NL Central foes Pittsburgh beginning Monday afternoon.
