The Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies are playing int he rubber game of a three-game series on Sunday afternoon after the teams split the first two games of the series.
Chicago took Game 1 by putting up 16 runs Friday night but dropped Saturday’s Game 2 after going up 2-0 early in the first inning. The Rockies went on to score five-unanswered to even up the series.
When the Cubs released their lineup, two noticeable players were absent as Willson Contreras and Addison Russell were given the day off. But early on, the team found out they would be without another key player.
In the top of the first inning, Cubs third baseman Kris Bryant was hit in the head by Rockies starter German Marquez and had to leave the game. It was a scary moment early on:

There was no immediate word on Bryant’s status from the Cubs but we expect an update during the game. Hopefully Bryant is okay and is able to return to the lineup this week for the Cubs.
