The Chicago Cubs are just on a roll.
They are now 11-2 in their 13 games since the 2017 MLB All-Star Break and appear to be back in 2016 form with the latest series win coming against the White Sox. After dropping the first game of the series on Monday, the Cubs rebounded by winning three-straight and claimed the Crosstown Cup.
Following Thursday’s game, the Cubs now have a 1.5 game lead over the Milwaukee Brewers in the NL Central as the two teams are set to meet for a three-game series in Milwaukee beginning Friday.
One reason the Cubs have been able to turn it around is their improved hitting, including Kyle Schwarber who slumped in the first half.
But since Schwarber has returned from a stint in Triple-A Iowa, he’s hit a lot better. That included Thursday’s game where Schwarber helped the Cubs get the lead with a big two-run homer:

In the sixth, Schwarber hit a deep triple to the opposite field to help extend the Cubs lead to 5-2 after Willson Contreras scored.
But Schwarber wasn’t done yet.
Just two innings later, Schwarber hit his second home run of the game:

He finished the game 3-for-4 with a triple, two home runs and four RBI. The positive is that he’s starting to hit again and he’s hitting to the opposite field.
That’s been a consistency since Schwarber returned 16 games ago. But can he keep it up?
