Chicago Cubs slugger Kyle Schwarber suffered a torn ACL in the first week of the 2016 regular season.
While Schwarber was ruled out for the remainder of the season, rumors were that he could return if the Cubs made a deep run in the playoffs. Then just days before the World Series started, Schwarber was assigned to the Arizoan Fall League to rehab and make his return.
He did just that.
Schwarber DH’ed in all four games in Cleveland and pinch hit in a few games in Chicago. It was a remarkable comeback as the outfielder hit .412 with 2 RBI’s and 3 walks.
Now in 2017, the outfielder is back and will hopefully play a full season with the Cubs. Through 6 games, Schwarber already has 2 HR’s including a go-ahead blast against the St. Louis Cardinals.
Schwarber is the star of the latest Gatorade commercial in the #WinFromWithin series as it documents his hard work and ethic to get back to playing baseball when it looked as if his season was over.

The Cubs will host the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night for their home opener at Wrigley Field. A special ceremony to raise the 2016 World Series banner will take place shortly before.
