Pitchers and catchers report to Spring Training in just under a week as the Chicago Cubs enter the 2017 season as defending champions.
Before the Cubs report to Mesa, Arizona a few players are already down there working on their game.
One of those players is Kyle Schwarber who is coming off a serious knee injury suffered early in the 2016 season.
Schwarber was able to return to be the designated hitter in the 2016 World Series but didn’t play the field. In 2017, he’s expected to be a key piece in the Cubs outfield.
He’s just 10 months removed from his surgery, so it’s going to take some time for him to be 100% in the field. But he’s working on it.
Cubs Insider was able to get some video of Schwarber in the field on Monday:
The real test for Schwarber will come in Spring Training games in a few weeks. For more videos Schwarber and the Cubs, bookmark Cubs Insider on YouTube.
