Cinderella is still dancing.
The eleventh-seeded Loyola-Chicago Ramblers are going to the Elite 8 for the first time since 1963 after beating seventh-seeded Nevada on Thursday night’s Sweet 16 matchup in Atlanta. After falling behind as much as 12 points in the first half, the Ramblers rallied to take a 28-24 lead into halftime.
They continued to build on that lead, going up 12 points before Nevada rallied to tie it late. But Loyola withstood the Wildcats run and made some key baskets down the stretch.
None were bigger than Marques Townes’ three-pointer with 6.2 seconds left gave the Ramblers a four-point lead. They would hold on to win 69-68.

Loyola has a knack for hitting big shots late in games. They have won their three games by a combined four points and hit big shots in the final seconds in each game. The Ramblers are just one game away from the Final Four and will take on the winner of Kansas State and Kentucky on Saturday night.
