Former Chicago Cubs pitcher Ryan Dempster is making his return to baseball as he’s playing with team Canada in the World Baseball Classic next week.
Dempster pitched a few seasons for the Cubs and then joined the team’s Front Office back in 2014. But with his return to the game, he needs to get ready.
The right hander has been throwing during Cubs Spring Training, trying to get ready for the upcoming tournament.
But the other day, something pretty cool happened.
Dempster was pitching to Cubs President of Baseball Operations Theo Epstein as part of his routine. Epstein didn’t back down and actually made solid contact launching a ball to the opposite field.

That’s pretty damn good for a guy who is 43-years-old and is paid to make the decisions for the World Series Champs.
