Win: Ricky Nolasco (2-2) Loss: Carlos Villanueva (1-1) Save: Steve Cishek (3)
Home Runs: MIA: Giancarlo Stanton 2(3), Nick Green (1) CHC: Dioner Navarro (3)
The Good: Anthony Rizzo and Starlin Castro has two hits a piece, and each of them had a double. Castro also drove in two runs in addition to his double, and Rizzo’s double produced the Cubs first run of the afternoon. Dioner Navarro added his third home run of the season.
The Bad: Carlos Villanueva nearly missed another quality start, going six innings and allowing four runs to a weak Marlins offense. The Cubs continued to struggle with runners in scoring position, going just 1-8.
The Ugly: Kameron Loe allowed a home run in each of the two innings he pitched in. Alfonso Soriano, Nate Schierholtz, Luis Valbuena and Darwin Barney were all held without a hit.
The Stat: After allowing the two home runs today, Kameron Loe has allowed nine home runs this season with the Mariners and the Cubs.
Notes: The Cubs return home tomorrow night to face the Padres in the first game of a four game set. Jeff Samardzija (1-4) takes the hill against Clayton Richard (0-2).
