After a tough loss last night, the Sox came back to even up the series against the Royals.
For the first 5 innings of the game, it was all White Sox. In the 2nd inning A Pierzynski singled to left center, M Kotsay scored. It was then the resurging Gordon Beckham, Beckham singled to center, A Pierzynski scored, D Viciedo to third. It was then Juan Pierre who grounded out but scored Viviedo giving the Sox a 3-0 lead after 1. After Gordon Beckham got on base it was ALexei Ramirez who would knock in Beckham giving the Sox the early 4-0 lead. The Royals gave the Sox a scare in the 5th as Betemit hit an RBI single then old friend Scott Podsednik who knocked in 2 with his 2 RBI single. That is all the Royals would get though as the Sox would go on to win the game, 4-3.
Gordon Beckham for the 4th straight game was excellent as he went 6.2 innings allowing just 3 runs on 7 hits. Thornton and Putz would combine for 2.1 innings and it was Putz who shut the Royals down in the 9th.
The Sox will look to win another series tomorrow night in Kansas City.
