According to a White Sox Tweet, the White Sox have outrighted RHP pitchers Kyle Cofield, Josh Kinney & Shane Lindsay and. LHP Leyson Septimo to AAA Charlotte and have also reinstated RHP Tony Pena from the 60-day disabled list & requested waivers for granting his unconditional release. All 5 players will become free agents
Cofield was acquired from the Braves for Scott Linebrink prior to the 2011 season. In splitting time between AA and AAA Cofield, 24, went a combined 1-2 with a 3.30 ERA in 17 games.
Kinney, 32, appeared in 13 games for the Sox earning a 6.62 ERA over 17.2 innings.
Lindsay, 26, made his Major League debut this year for the Sox pitching in 4 games compiling a 12.00 ERA.
Septimo, 25, was claimed off waivers by the Sox from Arizona during the season. For AA Birmingham he pitched in 22 games with a 4.10 ERA
Pena, 29, spent about half of the season on the DL with elbow issues. In 17 games the righthander went 1-1 with a 6.20 ERA.
