Today Kenny Williams decided to go the opposite route of his previous comments to the press about attendance and not being able to take on money and make trades, well kinda.
The trade today made by The White Sox and The Red Sox seems like a no brainer for both sides. The White Sox obtain Kevin Youkilis, who plays 3B/1B and DH and Cash for Brent Lillibridge and Zach Stewart.
Pros of deal: Youkilis is a proven MLB Veteran who can play multiple positions and can solve the black hole at 3B. One thing that get swept under the rug in this deal is the simple fact that he can play 1B and DH. I bring this up because of Konerko who has seen his batting average go down due to the bone chip in his wrist. This can make for Dunn at 1B and Youkilis as a DH to give him rest from the everyday grind. Also note what The White Sox gave up. Zach Stewart and Brent Lillibridge, nothing of immediate importance there.
Cons of deal: Age and regression could be setting in by playing at 3B everyday and the injury he got this year. Those 2 can be crucial for his and The White Sox success this season.
All in all it was a good day for White Sox fans.
