While the biggest prize in the Chris Sale deal to the Boston Red Sox was prospect Yoan Moncada, pitcher Michael Kopech will be a player to watch.
The hard-throwing right-handed pitcher is starting his 2017 season in Double-A Birmingham and looking to make his way up to the big leagues as the White Sox are rebuilding.
On Tuesday, Kopech had his best performance of the early season.
Kopech tossed six scoreless innings of one-hit ball, getting the win for the Barons over Jacksonville 3-2. It was Kopech’s first win in the White Sox organization as he struck out 8 batters in the game.
In four games this season, Kopech has been fantastic yielding just a 2.50 ERA:

With Carson Fulmer pitching well, the White Sox future pitching stars are off to a great start. Fulmer is closer to the big leagues than Kopech is but the two could be key pieces to the White Sox rebuilding which should be ready in either 2018 or 2019.
The potential of having Fulmer, Kopech and Carlos Rodon all together should have White Sox fans very, very excited.
