Chicago White Sox catcher Zack Collins is hoping to be a staple in the team’s starting lineup for years to come.
The catcher was ranked as the No. 9 catching prospect in baseball going into the 2018 season as he enters an important year development-wise with Double-A Birmingham. Collins isn’t expected to reach the majors this season but he’s likely to see a bump up to Triple-A Durham at some point.
Through the first few weeks of the 2018 MiLB season, Collins is slashing .098/.321/.220 in 14 games. But on Wednesday night, he hit a big home run that helped cut into a deficit.
Watch as Collins launches a deep home run that hit the scoreboard in right field:

Collins now has 2 home runs on the year to go along with 7 RBI. Birmingham would end up losing to Pensacola 9-8 and will open up a five-game home series against Biloxi starting Thursday.
