The White Sox have placed outfielder DeWayne Wise on waivers with the purpose of granting him his unconditional release. Wise, who has been injured for most of the 2013 campaign was resigned in the offseason to serve as the team’s fourth outfielder. But the injuries and the lack of production even before his injury is leading the toward beginning their youth movement and giving younger guys a shot at the big leagues.
Wise has been on eleven different big league teams, Mostly serving the same role he has with the White Sox. I wouldn’t be surprised if a team like Houston or the Yankees picked him to sure up their bench and late inning defense. Speaking of defense, one of Wise’s best moments came on the South Side and it is something Sox fans will never forget.
