The Adam Dunn era is officially over in Chicago.
Today the White Sox traded the 34-year-old first baseman/designated hitter to the Oakland Athletics for minor league pitcher Nolan Sanburn. Dunn will now have a shot at making the playoffs for the first time in his career.
Dunn hit 20 home runs with a .220 average this season for the White Sox and is expected to be slotted into the middle of the A’s order. This trade now gives the A’s another big bat that they needed for a postseason run.
The 23-year-old Sanburn is 3-1 with a 3.28 ERA in High-A Stockton.
