Well this has already been an insanely busy morning for White Sox trade rumors already and it is only 10am. Overnight the rumors began that the White Sox were talking to the Diamondbacks to acquire starting pitcher Edwin Jackson. Those rumors got real intense and the deal was reported by SI as almost done.
Now there are two theories as to what would be happening with that deal. On one hand the White Sox could keep Jackson as their fifth starter who also is under contract for next season. He is having a rough season and has maddening control problems, but the White Sox have taken a guy like him before and helped save his career.
The other theory is that Jackson could be flipped to the Nationals and the White Sox would get Adam Dunn back. The Nationals have been after Jackson all week. Peter Gammons did tweet that the Nationals may not be after Jackson at all.
Either way it would appear that the Jackson for Daniel Hudson and another prospect deal is going to get done soon, unless of course this next thing happens.
Just because we needed another twist in the never ending Kenny Williams trade deadline fun, Joe Cowly tweets that the White Sox are working on a massive deal that would make the Jackson deal not happen. What does massive mean? Could be Prince Fielder, but knowing Williams odds are it’s a player we haven’t even thought about yet.
Look nowhere else but here for updates as this insane saga continues.
