Well, to say the season looks bleak would be an understatement right now. The White Sox have dropped six in a row, three to the crosstown rival Cubs, and three to the western division rival the Oakland A’s. It seems as though the White Sox will only have the June draft to look forward to this week, which is when they will select some young players who will hopefully be the future of the franchise. However, until then they will have to face the Seattle Mariners.
The Mariners are in a similar position, they have a good team, or had a good team, on paper, but they just can’t put everything together. It also doesn’t help that the Mariners are in one of the most difficult divisions in baseball since they compete with the Texas Rangers, LA Angels, and Oakland A’s on a regular basis.
At this point, this writer can care less whether the Sox take this series or not. To be honest, I’d rather have the high draft pick come next June and build and make a better team for the future. And if the Sox decided to get their act together and start winning, I will also support them doing well and trying to make another push to the playoffs.
