It appears as if Chicago Cubs pitcher Yu Darvish will return to the team sooner rather than later. After throwing a simulated game on Wednesday, the Cubs have announced that Darvish will make at least one rehab stint before returning to the big leagues.
The news broke Sunday morning ahead of the Cubs’ series finale in Cincinnati as Darvish left the ball park and is heading to Indiana to make a rehab start Monday night for the South Bend Cubs in Single-A.
Darvish will head out today for South Bend for rehab start Monday.

Darvish has been sidelined for weeks with a triceps injury, derailing his first year with the Cubs. The hope is that all goes well in his rehab start and he doesn’t have to make another one and instead returns to the Cubs.
Nothing has been said about how many rehab starts he will make, so it’s something to keep an eye on. We could see Darvish back in the rotation as early as next weekend when the Cubs host the Minnesota Twins.
