Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine was spotted out in Los Angeles by TMZ and had interesting words about the Lakers
The 2022 offseason for the Chicago Bulls will revolve around the decision of guard Zach LaVine who is set to be a free agent. LaVine has spent the past five seasons in Chicago after being acquired via trade from Minnesota on draft day in 2017.
After making two-straight all-star games, LaVine is hoping to land a max deal somewhere. While the Bulls may be hesitant to give him that deal due to his knee injury, he’s likely to get it from a team if it’s not Chicago.
The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that has been connected to LaVine. The Lakers will have to move some players around to free up the cap space this offseason. And a sign-and-trade could be in the works, allowing the Bulls to get something back.
But on Monday, LaVine was spotted in Los Angeles eating dinner and TMZ asked him a few questions while he was out.
When asked about LaVar Ball’s recent prediction of LaVine landing in Los Angeles, Lavine said that he and Lonzo are boys. He also added this about the Lakers:
“I’ve always been a big fan,” he said as he hopped in his Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
I don’t think this is any reason for Bulls fans to panic. LaVine has admitted he’s going to go through the free-agent process and see what other teams have to offer. LaVine has earned that right. Chicago will have their chance to sign him again. And one can argue the ball is in their court.
It does give Laker Nation some hope, however.
In a year where they failed to make the playoffs with LeBron James, Anthony Davis and Russell Westbrook, they are hoping to find their direction for the future.
