Chicago Bulls shooting guard Zach LaVine has been the topic of new trade talks in the rumor mill and this time, the news of him potentially moving to the Denver Nuggets gets an update—albeit it being a non-progress.
As reported by the Chicago Sun-Times, Zach LaVine remains to be one of the top names that the Chicago Bulls are looking to trade off, in exchange for fresh names and talents, as well as future draft picks. Similar to other teams in the NBA right now who are looking to overhaul their roster, the Bulls are perceived to be on the lookout for new talents in the future.
According to the report, LaVine has been on the team’s “to trade” list since last season, but complications made them let go of DeMar DeRozan instead. Now, they may be considering sending LaVine to the Nuggets—that has not progressed much, however.
The report said: “The Sun-Times reported that the Nuggets rumor did have “light momentum” as of last week, but that’s as far as it has gotten. Both teams have sent out feelers in early talks of what a deal would look like, but it hasn’t progressed.”
Lakers Interested in Zach Lavine, But Not At The Cost of Austin Reeves
Another one of the teams that Zach Lavine has been constantly kind to for a trade this season has been the Los Angeles Lakers. The rumors along with where the Lakers are right now. Despite being at a decent spot in the Western Conference, the LA team has always expressed the need for an upgrade in their roster to address holes both in their defense as well as their offense.
However, word had it that while they may be interested in acquiring someone like LaVine, the player’s history and risk of injury may be holding them back to shell out valuable assets for him. In particular, reports had it that they are stern on not letting their primary point guard Austin Reaves.
The report said about the Lakers wanting to keep Reaves out of a trade: “There have been whispers about the Lakers for over a year now, but a source said that the pieces that would have to be swapped don’t fit, and Los Angeles remains steadfast that Austin Reaves isn’t going to be included.”
Reaves has proven his value to the teams as a playmaker, particularly during games where the team’s star players like LeBron James and Anthony Davis, are not inside the court. He also offers a decent amount of contribution on offense, with an average so far of 17.7 points per game.
